Former French Open winner and former Wimbledon presenter Sue Barker thinks Emma Raducanu has all she needs to be successful in tennis.

Barker is one of the most iconic figures in British tennis. She is a former French Open champion and won plaudits worldwide for her superb presentation of BBC's coverage of Wimbledon until leaving the role after this year's tournament.

Raducanu already has one Grand Slam to her name after an extraordinary run to the US Open title last year. She did not drop a set throughout the year's final Grand Slam as an 18-year-old qualifier.

The Briton's final last year against Leylah Fernandez also had a positive impact off the court. It was revealed that some of the broadcasting revenues from Amazon Prime were reinvested into an initiative for young girls by the Lawn Tennis Association.

While there have been some flashes of her best tennis, 2022 has not been an easy season for Raducanu. The newfound expectations of being a Grand Slam champion have not been easy to manage.

However, Barker remains optimistic about Raducanu's future. The iconic presenter told the Telegraph that she believes she needs to enjoy the sport more while learning to win.

"She's got the game and she's shown she's got the mindset and physically she's fabulous. I mean, I don't know about the injuries and what's happening with those, but she got through the US Open from qualifying. I feel that she's got all the attributes. Now she's got to learn how to win and maybe how to enjoy it."
"I feel she needs one person that she really trusts and believes in. Every coach comes in with a different mindset, a different way of wanting to play and a different way of teaching, and to me, that would be totally confusing. It would be disruptive before it became effective. But I also feel that the pressure that she's been put under has just been immense."

Hearing such encouraging words from someone like Barker should give Raducanu significant encouragement.
