Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula have been doubles partners for a while and the younger American looks up to her colleague.
They achieved quite a few impressive things over the years including winning great trophies together and putting Gauff to number one in the doubles for a while. Their relationship off the court grew due to the partnership as well. She commended her Player's Tribune piece admitting she was proud of her.
I read her Players' Tribune essay, and it was great. It was emotional. I'm glad she was able to get those thoughts out. Definitely probably not easy reliving a certain situation and sharing it to the world. I'm super proud of her for that.
They are both currently in Doha where they are playing singles and doubles and their partnership is going to continue as they look to win a grand slam together. Gauff further spoke about how she looks up to Pegula and how she handles things.
Honestly, I look up to her in that way. You know, I have been experiencing it up close, and just seeing the way she carries herself, you would have never guessed all the things she's gone through. So that speaks to her personality and speaks to her level of coolness. Hopefully, I can have that.
