Alexander Zverev is still talking about Daniil Medvedev throwing shade at the Russian once more by claiming he never bent the rules to win a match.

It was a very frosty affair in generally warm Monte-Carlo last week as Medvedev rallied late to send Zverev on a very short trip to his Monaco home. Their handshake was firm evidence that things are rather chilly between them as Zverev barely looked at Medvedev during it. That was followed by a rather fierce blasting after the match which began a back-and-forth between them.

Medvedev said some things back to the German explaining that none of what Zverev said made any sense and some like Justine Henin defended the Russian, saying that he didn't really do anything wrong. Nobody would argue that Medvedev is perfect but Zverev was very unimpressed with the way the match unfolded.

Speaking to Sky after the event, Zverev further blasted Medvedev for repeating his 'unfair player' mantra that seems to have approval among fans. Sky polled tennis fans on social media whether they agreed with Zverev's initial comments and most supported him.

He [Daniil Medvedev] said that I'm not the one who should say something like that. I think I'm someone who can say something like that because I've never used a bathroom break to my advantage in my life. I have never taken an unneccessary medical timeout in any way.

While this feud seems to be rather new it's actually not as the players do have some history. Zverev made several odd remarks about Medvedev's wife in the past during post-match speeches and Medvedev's wife is a close friend of Olga Sharypova who accused Zverev of abuse in the past.

Medvedev even confirmed that they are not friends and time will tell how things unfold. For now, Zverev keeps is adamant about being the more honorable player.

I win and lose with tennis. I'm someone who is very proud of that. Of course, I break a racket sometimes, I also had such issues. But I think I'm someone who wins and loses with tennis.
