Roberto Bautista Agut defeated native player Filip Misolic to capture the Kitzbuhel trophy and his son joined in on the ceremony.
Bautista captured his 2nd trophy of the year and 11th career overall in Kitzbuhel after a stellar week of great tennis. It was a rather comfortable win in the final 6-2 6-2 against a player who played in his maiden final and it showed. After the match, Bautista said:
“I enjoyed the final, I think I managed the pressure very well. I knew I was a little bit the favourite today, but he had so many good wins this tournament and I knew it was going to be difficult. I played a very good match.”
This was his first trophy on clay since 2014 in Stuttgart and the wait is finally over. Touching upon that, Agut added:
“It was a very long time since I won a title on clay. It’s very special for me, because I’ve done a lot of good work on this surface.”
His speech during the trophy ceremony was interrupted by his son who could stand still and simply experience the moment. He had to become part of it and you can check that one out below.
