Novak Djokovic has been away from the tennis court for some time, but he finally started practicing before his return to clay courts.
After a disappointing Australian Open campaign, the Serbian traveled to the United States, where he intended to compete in the Sunshine Double. However, that ended earlier than he expected after he lost to world no. 123, Luca Nardi, in Indian Wells.
That's because Djokovic then made a surprising decision to skip the Miami Open. Still, he stayed in the United States for a few more days, enjoying his time on the beach, while also attending an NBA game.
In the meantime, he returned to his home country of Serbia, where he once again hit the practice court ahead of his anticipated comeback, which will happen during the clay-court part of the season.
This part of the season is played in Europe, so it makes perfect sense that the 24-time major winner chose his hometown as his place for practice, as he usually does so ahead of the clay season.
According to the entry list, but also his own website, the first tournament on clay should be the 2024 Monte-Carlo Masters. It's the first clay-court ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the season, a tournament he managed to win twice in his career, in 2013 and 2015.
During his practices in recent months, Djokovic has often been seen wearing a protective sleeve for his elbow, but that couldn't be observed in this specific video.
Since it's still relatively cold in Serbia these months, the 36-year-old wore a long-sleeve black t-shirt under his regular practice t-shirt.
However, Djokovic seems to be moving without any problems, and his shots also seem to be as good as ever, not indicating any kind of discomfort, which many debated about after his Miami Open withdrawal.
