Just days after winning the seventh Wimbledon trophy of his career, Novak Djokovic made his way to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he opened the first two tennis courts built there.
Just a few days ago, Djokovic was in London contesting the Wimbledon final against Nick Kyrgios, which he ended up winning, and now he’s in Bosnia and Herzegovina to open some tennis courts.
Djokovic first made his way to the natural park outside the town of Visoko last year ahead of Roland Garros and credited the experience with helping him win that event.
The complex has been promoted for its supposed health benefits, which Djokovic backs as somebody who is not shy about his belief in alternative methods. He’s been visiting the complex every now and then since then, as he finds it a great place to recharge.
He sees the place as a great spot for tennis players to visit and recharge in the future, much like he does. He also dedicated himself to the promotion of this place, which he did recently when he traveled there to open some tennis courts, the first of many, as he had hoped.
It was a short exhibition event that featured Djokovic playing tennis with local tennis players, and he hopes to make it a yearly event. Djokovic further committed to the natural park by buying some land within it, hoping to make it an oasis for himself in the future as a strong believer in nature’s healing effects.
According to his quick conversation with the local media, Djokovic confirmed that he plans to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina as often as possible due to the positive impact it’s had on him.
Time will tell whether that impact will help him secure a way into the United States, as his participation at the upcoming US Open remains a mystery.
