Novak Djokovic is not a stranger to clashing with the crowd, and the Wimbledon crowd is pretty much a given when it comes to the Serbian.
Djokovic has had to battle crowds for much of his career because he was never really backed against players like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, or Andy Murray. If he plays an underdog, then it's the same for him as for any other player, and over the years, he's found a way to use that to his advantage.
He recently spoke about that phenomenon and in ways it happened again at Wimbledon in the semi-final match against Jannik Sinner. The Serbian found himself down 15-40 after a bad forehand miss at a crucial point in the final set.
It was 5-4 for Sinner so they were set points for the Italian. Had Djokovic lost them, it could have completely derailed the match for him. The Serbian missed the first serve and then a heckler attempted to provoke Djokovic who gave him a staredown and an applause.
The Serbian would ultimately save both set points and win the game, after which he searched for the heckler in the stands and then mockingly imitated a person crying. You don't have to be Einstein to figure out what that meant, but Djokovic ultimately got the last laugh.
It's hardly the first time, and he now turns his attention to Sunday and the final against Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard took down Daniil Medvedev in straight sets to set up the highly anticipated final between the top two players on the ATP Tour right now.
Djokovic is the overwhelming favourite with a lot of experience on his side, but it's a final, and anything can happen. Alcaraz himself believes he can win the event and he'll undoubtedly see the crowd backing him. When it comes to the heckler, you can see Djokovic mocking him below.
