Roger Federer partnered with Anne Hathaway for a Swiss Tourism commercial, but behind the scenes, they took part in a fun questions-and-answer session.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion is currently trying to recover in time for the 2022 Laver Cup, where he's set to compete, as well as the Swiss Indoors in Basel, which is his home tournament that he has won ten times in his career.
In the meantime, he also had time to promote his country and tourism in it, partnering with Anne Hathaway, who is a popular American actress, whose movies have grossed billions of dollars all over the world.
In a video posted by the Swiss Maestro, the duo is seen asking each other a couple of questions, followed by them giving the answers. Federer joked about the video, saying that it made him nervous to record the session.
"I’ve played a lot of tight matches in my career, but I don’t remember ever sweating so much as I did filming this. Thank you for the acting tips, Anne Hathaway. I better stick to tennis."
Since the theme was Swiss tourism, the Q&A began with Federer asking the actresses about items that belong on a road trip. Hathaway quickly and thematically responded with a Swiss Army knife.
"A Swiss Army knife, they are amazing. I am so embarrassed to realize that I never heard it properly before coming here that it's a Swiss Army knife. So, I think every car should definitely have that."
She next asked him where his favorite place to go was as a child. Federer, who is currently staying busy off the court due to a prolonged injury absence, shared a personal story from his childhood about how he loved hiking with his father as it allowed him to enjoy the natural beauty of the Swiss mountains.
"I loved going hiking. It's a childhood memory I have, vividly. Early on, I already learned how to make a fire, grill the sausages. I loved it. The summer in the mountains is terrific, and my dad always used to say, 'When you walk, you talk,' and I think this always gave him the opportunity to speak to his children."
Federer then asked her with whom she would go on a road trip, and she gave some surprising responses that made the Swiss Maestro sweat a little bit.
"I think I would go with Adele. She's so charming. Sarah Silverman. Dolly Parton. She's a living saint, she's an icon."
Federer also admitted that he sings when he's alone in the car, naming a few musical bands that he enjoys listening to, including Queen, Bon Jovi, Roxette, and more.
