'Tennis Player' Djokovic Above 'Global Icon' Federer In GOAT Debate, Says Eubanks

Wimbledon breakout star Christopher Eubanks finds Novak Djokovic to be the best player of all time because he deems him the most complete player in the sport.

Thinking that Novak Djokovic is the greatest tennis player of all time isn't particularly shocking as many think that way. After all, no player on the ATP Tour has won more Grand Slams than Djokovic. Carlos Alcaraz made sure that Djokovic didn't add to his tally at Wimbledon, but there are still chances for him to add a few more in the coming years.

Christopher Eubanks got a really good chance to see Djokovic play at Wimbledon due to his own major breakout at the event, and it only confirmed to him what he thought for a very long time - that the Serbian is the GOAT, despite Roger Federer's influence.

Yeah, I think so. Personally. In just my opinion. The thing is GOAT conversations are so subjective. It all depends on what you like. Federer changed the way tennis players were viewed globally. He was a global icon. In terms of just being a tennis player and titles, records, weeks at being number one. He has the numbers.

Eubanks on the GOAT Debate

Stefanos Tsitsipas for example considers Federer to be the GOAT because he thinks that no player had more impact than him. It's a fair point, one that Eubanks wouldn't argue himself but for him, the tennis GOAT means something else. He simply looks at the tennis part.

Some might say Federer meant more to the sport and I'm not really going argue with you on that, if that's what your tennis GOAT means. Mine is just the best all around tennis player. You can take a tennis player, drop them on any surface against any opponent.

Ultimately it's a subjective thing, and unless one player completely runs away with it, it will always be subjective.
