Stefanos Tsitsipas' Latest Tweet Causes A Stir on Twitter

by Nurein Ahmed

Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the most active tennis players on social media and his latest tweet has once again generated plenty of negative reactions.

The Greek number one might just be as good at keyboard typing as he is on a tennis court, creating highly engaging tweets with deep analytical reasoning. The 2023 Australian Open finalist has a massive following on all social media platforms, including Twitter where he has amassed over 400,000 followers.

Three days ago, Tsitsipas tweeted: "Being an adult means buying a bunch of fresh produce with good intentions and then watching it turn into a science experiment in the fridge." The tweet has since garnered over 357K impressions.

But it is his latest tweet regarding cars and gas which has sparked some mixed reactions on the currently-rebranded X app. Tsitsipas wrote:

"Remember when we used to be excited about getting a new car? Now we're excited when the gas light doesn't turn on immediately after filling up."

"Rich guy trying to seem relatable with problems that never actually happen to him. Nice try."

Fan reaction to Tsitsipas' tweet

"Says the guy who drives around in an Aston Martin V12. Tsitsipas is any PR team’s worst nightmare."

Some fans, however, backed Tsitsipas. The Greek might be one of the wealthiest tennis players, sometimes showing off his lavish assembly of cars, he has earned it, as one fan responded, but quickly got a riposte.

"Everything he has, he earned! Life of a professional tennis player is very hard. This is why so many try and very few make it."

"No one denies it, he is a very talented and hard-working guy, however, some of his posts are quite ridiculous and do not apply to the lives of pro tennis players. One might think this quote comes from fresh graduate who is still searching for the job"

One fan saw the funn side of Tsitsipas' philosophical tweets

Tsitsipas tends to tweet inspiring quotes, showing his great mastery of the English language and his penchant for philosophy. Tsitsipas was once accused of using ChatGPT - an AI chatbot that processes data in human-like conversation based on a prompt in his message congratulating Djokovic on winning the 2023 French Open.
