'Shut ups' and cold handshake overshadow Rune - Ruud match at Roland Garros

There does not seem to be much love between Casper Ruud and Holger Rune as the duo exchanged one of the coldest handshakes in recent memory.

Rune and Ruud battled it out hard during their Roland Garros quarterfinal clash but the Norwegian proved more experienced and more composed in the end. The handshake was very cold with Ruud showing a very visceral reaction to it by shaking his head following it.

They also exchanged a few words during the match as well. Asked about it during the post-match press conference, Ruud said:

"I told him, 'What, do you need to check every mark? and he told me to be quiet. I asked him 'Maybe that's not the greatest thing to tell your opponent to be quiet when I'm talking to you?' and he said it once more. So that was all that happened. And I didn't exchange any more words with him after this"

He continued:

"So that's what he wantes to say and behave? That's up to him."

Rune confirmed these events in his post-match press conference as well. Check out the handshake below.
