Sebastian Korda's meteoric rise in the tennis world was temporarily halted by a right wrist injury that forced him to withdraw from the Australian Open quarterfinal.
Now, the young American will also miss the 2023 BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells as he was forced to withdraw from the event because of the same injury. The entry list includes many interesting names and after Taylor Fritz lifted the trophy last year, many players thought that they can replicate his success in 2023, and Korda was surely one of them.
Despite the withdrawal, his team reports that he has been undergoing a "very solid fitness block" during his time sidelined, and is now targeting a return to the court at the Miami Open, which starts on March 22nd.
The Miami Open will be a critical test for Korda, who is currently ranked No. 26 in the world. The competition will be fierce, but Korda's recent performances on the court have shown that he is more than capable of holding his own against the best players in the world.
With a solid fitness foundation under his belt, Korda will be looking to regain confidence and return to the ATP Tour with a bang, as he'll want to continue his rise in the rankings.
