Holger Rune is one of the most promising young talents on the ATP Tour but also one of the most ambitious.

The young Dane is already a part of the Top 10 and at every event that he enters, he's considered to be one of the favourites. Rune was the ITF Juniors' world number. 1 and he wants to reach the same position also among men.

Almost every tennis player or athlete has their idol when growing up, and Rune was no different. But talking to Giojournal, the teenager admitted that he became bigger fans of tennis over time and started appreciating various qualities of players rather than one specific player.

"First I was fan of Rafa. He was number one back then. I had Rafa posters all over my room. Then I became Roger fan and later I was fan of many players. To be more specific, I am fan of Verdasco's forehand, Zverev’s backhand , Novak’s return, Rogers movements, Rafa’s fighter attitude, etc."

Rune is not afraid to talk about his dreams and every time that he's asked about his future, the 19-year-old answers honestly and doesn't hide the fact that his dreams are very big.

"I dream big. Since I was 6 years old I wanted to become the best player in the world and win multiple grand slams and the Olympics. This dream hasn’t changed."

The young Dane was also asked about a rule that he would change in tennis. The future of the sport is often discussed and various changes are proposed by players, former players, and analysts and Rune also shared his opinion.

"I think for the future there will have to be changes in order to keep the younger audience hot and for TV. Maybe shorter matches by cutting away one serve or do no add on 40 all points, net serve could count as a serve, shorter breaks between points or something like that. And also make the spectators somehow feel closer to the players."

He would like to see tennis more focused on the younger audience which is an important factor for the sport to keep growing. As an example, Rune remembered watching the NextGen ATP Finals.

"I remember watching the first edition of Next-Gen and compared to the normal ATP matches I felt so close to the players . I could really feel the nerve much more and this was exciting."
