Rafael Nadal has announced that he will be parting ways with his long-time coach Francis Roig.

The news has come as a surprise to many fans of the sport, as Roig has played a crucial role in Nadal's success over the years.

Nadal and Roig first began working together in 2005, and since then, the pair has enjoyed an extremely successful partnership. Nadal has won an impressive 22 Grand Slam titles during this time, including 14 Roland Garros titles, which is a record in the Open Era. Roig has been credited with helping Nadal develop his aggressive and physically demanding playing style, which has become his hallmark on the court.

Despite their success together, Nadal and Roig are parting ways because of personal projects of the coach.

"I wanted to inform you that Francis Roig is leaving the team. Francis has been an important person in my career and I am very grateful to him for all these years of work and friendship. When we started working together I was a child and together with my uncle Toni, we started on the circuit.”

Francis is a great coach who knows tennis very well and has helped me a lot to get better and better. I only have words of gratitude and I wish him all the luck in the world in his new project," Nadal announced on Twitter.
