The 2025 Rotterdam Open will welcome one of the most star-studded fields for an ATP 500 event ever, as the entry list has been released.
The Rotterdam Open, also called the ABN AMRO Open for sponsorship reasons, is one of the most popular ATP 500 tournaments on the calendar. It's an indoor hardcourt event held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, two weeks after the Australian Open.
The list of the Rotterdam Open champions includes names such as Roger Federer, Andy Murray, and Stan Wawrinka. In recent years, plenty of players made this tournament their favorite, and that's why the last four champions will all compete also in 2025.
Andrey Rublev won the tournament in 2021, Felix Auger-Aliassime was unstoppable in 2022, Daniil Medvedev triumphed in 2023, and Jannik Sinner will be the defending champion in 2025, having won the event in 2024.
Three of these players are ranked in the Top 10 of the ATP Rankings, which means the field will be incredibly strong, but they are not the only Top 10 players on the entry list.
Carlos Alcaraz will make his debut in Rotterdam, and he was one of the first players announced. The Spaniard chose to change his schedule, which usually involved clay-court tournaments in South America during this part of the season.
Alex de Minaur and Grigor Dimitrov are two more Top 10 players at the time of entry who signed up for this tournament, further strengthening the quality of the field for the 2025 Rotterdam Open, which will run from February 3rd until 9th.
Alongside the Rotterdam Open, there will be one more ATP 500 tournament running. The Dallas Open will offer players a convenient move to America ahead of the Sunshine Double, which starts in March.
Still, the Rotterdam Open is such a popular event that many players prefer to spend time in Europe and compete in this tournament, even US players, such as Sebastian Korda, who signed up for the 2025 edition of the tournament.
Holger Rune, Jack Draper, Arthur Fils, and Jiri Lehecka are all young players who already experienced the spotlight of an important win, and they will all want to grow their trophy collection in Rotterdam.
The likes of Hubert Hurkacz, Jordan Thompson, and Matteo Berrettini, on the other hand, will want to prove that their big-serving game suits the indoor hard courts well.
The entry list for the 2025 Rotterdam Open is really star-studded, and the tournament organizers still have a few wild cards to give away, possibly strengthening the field even more.
