'Novak Is One Of The Greatest Athletes' Due To Unpredictability Of Tennis Says Kyrgios

Novak Djokovic doesn't need endorsements of his greatness because he showed it many times, but Nick Kyrgios still gave it to him.

The relationship between Nick Kyrgios and Novak Djokovic has been quite interesting. Kyrgios didn't have any spectacular opinion of Djokovic before the pandemic when he tore into the Serbian about his casual style of going about things.

The Australian continued branding Djokovic in certain ways for disregarding the severity of the pandemic, but they were able to reconcile when Kyrgios spoke up for Djokovic during the deportation saga.

Since then, they've been on pretty good terms despite Djokovic beating Kyrgios in the 2022 Wimbledon final. The Australian came to appreciate Djokovic for all he did, giving him credit whenever possible.

The same thing happened in a recent interview with Piers Morgan as Kyrgios called Djokovic one of the greatest athletes.

This is one of the only sports in the world where you don't know how long the match will go, It Could be an and half, it could be four hours, plans change. You have to be able to adapt that's why for me, Novak is one of the greatest athletes, it's not like football where play a certain 90 minutes.

Kyrgios on Djokovic

Djokovic is indeed the king of adaptability as the Serbian demonstrated that many times. Take any Djokovic match, and you'll quickly see a pattern. You'll see a player who eases himself into the match, observing how things go.

Once he cracks the code, Djokovic simply takes over the match and easily smashes his opponents. That's all adaptability and it's pretty rare in the tennis world.

Only the best of the best are capable of it and Djokovic is firmly one of them. It's why so many players struggle to play against him. Whatever your skill is, he's still going to find a way to counter it.
