Carlos Alcaraz has a busy off-season schedule which includes stops in Latin America and the Middle East before he embarks on his trip to Australia for the 2024 season.
The Spaniard has been promoting the upcoming exhibition event in Mexico City where he is scheduled to face American Tommy Paul at the Plaza de Toros Monumental de México, the same venue that held Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud's multi-city tour of Latin America last year.
Tickets are now on sale on the tournament's website at the TennisFest GNP. Alcaraz's popularity with Spanish-speaking Mexican tennis fans is guaranteed to fill up the world's largest bull ring, commonly known as La Plaza Mexico, which can hold up to 55,000 spectators in one sitting.
Last year marked the first edition of the TennisFest GNP exhibition tournament where Nadal and Ruud played the first singles match of the event in front of 40,000 exuberant fans that were packed to the rafters. The 22-time major champion prevailed in straight sets.
"Not long to go! Looking forward to seeing you all at the @tennisfestmx that will be played on November 29 at @laplazamexico! See you there @sebastianyatra!"
There was also a mixed doubles match featuring the Mexican pair of Santiago Gonzalez and Renata Zarazua facing the North American duo of Jack Sock and Leylah Fernandez. This time, there will be a WTA singles match pitting former WTA No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki against Maria Sakkari.
The one-day spectacle will be held on Wednesday, November 29, and will be topped off with a musical concert at the end of the night by famous Colombian pop artist Sebastian Vatra.
This match will come two weeks from Alcaraz's final ATP tournament of 2023. The 20-year-old has confirmed that he will play at the ATP Finals in Turin for the first time next week, but will be heading there knowing that the year-end No. 1 ranking is pretty much settled following Novak Djokovic's seventh Paris Masters title on Sunday.
Alcaraz will then proceed on a vacation following the match against Tommy Paul in late November. He is set to resume his preseason in the second week of December at the Ferrero Tennis Academy and will play Djokovic in a lucrative exhibition match in Saudi Arabia on December 27.
