Andy Murray is playing sensational tennis and he's been rewarded for it not just once, but already twice.
The two-time Wimbledon champion has decided to approach this year's grass-court season differently. Murray signed up for two ATP Challenger tournaments, after previously trying his hand at these events on clay, and it proved to be a good decision.
It all started in Surbiton where Murray proved to be the best player, winning the title while dropping only one set along the way. After the successful run, the Brit made a decision to sign up for one more ATP Challenger tournament, this time in Nottingham.
The former World No. 1 is confident that he still belongs among the best players on the grass court, and if the tournament in Surbiton didn't prove that, the subsequent event in Nottingham certainly did.
Murray, who recently expanded his coaching team, was dominant in every single match that he played, virtually never giving his opponents a chance to think about a victory, reaching the final without dropping a set, and producing some magic along the way.
In the final, the home crowd favourite took on Arthur Cazaux, a 20-year-old qualifier from France ranked 181st in the ATP Rankings. The Frenchman was certainly an opponent that Murray could beat, and he did exactly that.
In both sets, Murray produced just enough breaks to have one more than his opponent, which was enough for him to win 6-4, 6-4 in an hour and 47 minutes, and claim his second consecutive title.
Over the past two weeks, the Brit won all ten matches that he played, dropping only one set with an impressive 20-1 record in sets. Going into the Wimbledon, he will be the only player in the draw that previously defeated Novak Djokovic on the grass courts, and he certainly won't lack confidence.
Murray will rise to 38th place in the rankings, and on Monday, he'll play at another tournament, this time the ATP 500 event at the Queen's Club, where he'll kick off his journey against the seventh-seeded Alex de Minaur.
