| by Nurein Ahmed

Carlos Alcaraz is a crowd pleaser as much as he ambitious while on a tennis court and he's showing that at the 2023 US Open.

Despite dropping a set to in-form Dan Evans and seemingly looking like he could be struggling physically after he was captured receiving a dose of pills from his coaching team, it did not wipe off the smile from Alcaraz's face. The young Spaniard reacted brilliantly to close out the match in four sets.

One of Alcaraz's most endearing attributes that probably sets him apart from players of his age is his unparalleled charisma. Alcaraz's magnetic personality has enabled him to establish a close bond with so many of his fellow pros and tennis fans have warmed up to him.

His social media following has exploded since Alcaraz captured the first of his two Grand Slams at last year's US Open. Earlier this year, Alcaraz stated that smiling is the key to everything, and even fellow rival Stefanos Tsitsipas admitted to being inspired by Alcaraz's positive energy after sharing a practice session together.

Novak Djokovic's coach Goran Ivanisevic was left in amusement after watching Alcaraz firsthand during the Wimbledon final. The Croat called Alcaraz 'a great creature' in the wake of watching him smile in the face of adversity.

It's not the first time Alcaraz has spoken about his charisma, adding that he tends to have a dialogue with himself just to ensure he's able to please the fans. While his primary aim is to win tennis matches, Alcaraz's sunny disposition transmits to his matches, making him such a box-office entertainer.

"Sometimes. I mean, obviously, I want to win every match that I play, but at the same time, I want to have fun, trying different things, make the people enjoy watching tennis, watching my matches. Sometimes I talk to myself about what is most important: If I win or doing great things (smiling). Obviously win the matches is always most important. But sometimes I talk about that."
