Japanese tennis star Kei Nishikori has announced that he will be unable to compete at the 2023 Delray Beach Open due to ongoing injury issues.

The former world no. 4 has been plagued by injuries in recent years, and has not played a match since October 2021, when he lost to Daniel Evans at the Indian Wells Masters. Nishikori has made several attempts to return to the tour in 2022, but has been forced to withdraw from various events due to his injuries.

This latest withdrawal will no doubt be a disappointment to fans of the Japanese player, who have been eagerly anticipating his return to the court. While it is not clear at this time what the exact nature of Nishikori's injuries are, it is clear that they are still causing him problems and preventing him from competing at the highest level.

Despite the setback, Nishikori remains optimistic about his future on the tour and is determined to return to full fitness as soon as possible. He will no doubt be eager to get back on the court and show fans the kind of form that saw him reach a career-high ranking of world no. 4 back in 2015.

In the meantime, fans of Kei Nishikori will have to wait a little longer to see him back in action, but can rest assured that he is working hard behind the scenes to get back to full fitness and compete at the highest level once again. So, let's hope for the best for Kei Nishikori and that he will be able to make a successful comeback to the tour in the near future.
