Daniil Medvedev was happy to see Rafael Nadal win his 22nd grand slam trophy as well as Novak Djokovic winning his 21st grand slam.

The Russian is not one to hold deep grudges and as a tennis fan, he enjoys watching the legends of this sport creating some more records. Despite being at the wrong side of the net against Nadal at the 2022 Australian Open, Medvedev is happy to see Nadal adding to his tally. He thinks the same of Djokovic who won his 21st at Wimbledon recently:

"It was a great match; at Roland Garros he increased his Grand Slam titles to 22 and I was happy, as I was with Nole (Novak Djokovic), when he made 21 at Wimbledon."

Praising Nadal further, Medvedev added:

"To identify Rafa I have one word, amazing. He is an amazing fighter, an amazing warrior and an amazing person, with great mental strength."

Medvedev also noted the change in tennis every year noting that everything changes:

"It is difficult to compare my sports form today with last year at this point because every year on the tour something changes. My body is changing, my tennis too; 2021 was good and I am confident that I am starting the best part of my season."
