Felix Auger-Aliassime beat Steve Johnson in straight sets in Los Cabos and the Canadian dropped only one point behind his first serve.
Auger's game is built around his serve and while not his main weapon it's a major weapon for the Canadian. The better he serves the better he does as he showed last year at Wimbledon at the US Open, two grand slam events where the serve matters a lot. He only dropped one point behind his first one against Johnson and after the match, he was impressed by that:
"That's a pretty good stat. I didn't know it was that good. I knew it was good, definitely better than yesterday. I know my serve can be a really good weapon for me, a really strong one. Today I showed it, not facing a break point. That stat, I don't know if I've done that before."
Auger is having a really warm reception in Los Cabos as the Canadian has plenty of fans cheering him on and he complimented the atmosphere once more:
"The crowd was really nice today. It's better not to play a Mexican here, so that was also nicer for me.
As he noted above, it was nice playing a non-Mexican and that will continue next round as he will face Cameron Norrie. Auger has a 4-0 H2H against the Brit but Norrie won the event last year.
