While Rafael Nadal's life is going extremely well on the court, it is not going as well off it, now that the gender of his baby is known.

After winning two matches, Nadal is currently in the third round of the US Open. In the second match, he had a bizarre racquet bounce that hit his nose leaving it bloodied. He needed a medical timeout which paused the match, but he was eventually able to resume and complete it.

After the match, Nadal acknowledged that the blow left him feeling a little lightheaded and in a lot of pain, but that everything was alright and his nose didn't appear to be broken. This most recent setback comes after a number of private events caused distraction as well.

His wife had a medical concern that was temporarily addressed, and she was afterwards admitted to a hospital in Mallorca. Despite the private nature of the clinic, medical records were leaked to the public, which infuriated Nadal. Although it was an unnecessary diversion for the Spaniard, the leak did point out several pregnancy issues that might result in a premature birth for the child.

Another story claimed that if that happened, Nadal may consider quitting the US Open, but, for now it's not not likely. Fans were also infuriated by the revelation of the child’s gender which they consider an invasion of privacy considering the family did not disclose the information.

Under a tweet of Italian journalist Luigi Gatto, some of the fans commented:

“Why do u think we need to know all of this?? where's the privacy??”

“The fact that you are tweeting about this and invading their privacy is disgusting. The family has NOT issued a statement. Someone has clearly leaked information and you are enabling that by repeating it. If you had any common decency, you would take this down.”

“When is this all going to be private? People are taking illegal money to report something that is none of their business. I would think a medical code of ethics is seriously violated.”
