Carlos Alcaraz Admits He 'Doesn't Consider Himself The Chosen One'

Carlos Alcaraz doesn't consider himself anything special as he simply works hard trying to pursue his dreams.

The Spaniard recently added a second Grand Slam trophy to his tally by beating Novak Djokovic in the 2023 Wimbledon Championships final. It was a superb performance from the Spaniard who needed a special one to get it done.

Since then he was very busy talking to the media, both the Spanish and international one. In one of the interviews (El Pais), Alcaraz declined to describe himself as 'the chosen one'. He simply said that all of his results come from hard work.

I’ll be honest, I don’t consider myself the chosen one. That is achieved simply through hard work, there are no secrets. In this world, there are no secrets, but everything is achieved day by day through perseverance and effort. Details make the difference. 

Alcaraz to El Pais

Despite beating Djokovic in the final, Alcaraz recently said that he still considers the Serbian the best and the big three era quite alive. He knows that winning just one final doesn't mean much as another one could come in a few weeks. Working hard and especially working on the details is what will bring him the sustained success he wants.

Many great athletes or legends in all fields say it: the details are what make the difference, and in the end, pursuing your dream, being clear that you are going to make it come true it and trusting that you are going to make it come true it is what makes the difference and what allows you to reach the goals you set for yourself.

I am not a chosen one, but I have simply pursued my dream and believed in myself at all times. Obviously, behind all of this there is a lot, a lot of work.
