Auger-Aliassime & Raonic Set To Lead Canada In 2023 Davis Cup Finals Play-Off

| by Evita Mueller

Canada won the 2022 Davis Cup Finals, and they're bringing the firepower this year with Felix Auger-Aliassime and Milos Raonic both in the squad.

The Davis Cup Finals are inching closer, and defending champions Canada will have a tall order. There are many countries with packed squads who are hoping to dethrone them, but they're not going to go down easily.

We already saw some good stuff from the younger Canadians in the Davis Cup a few weeks ago, and the hope is that they can do it again. Still, there is a big veteran presence in the squad as well with Vasek Pospisil who is useful in both singles and doubles.

The main stars are obviously going to be Felix Auger-Aliassime and Milos Raonic. After skipping a few events, Raonic will be in Spain for the Davis Cup Finals, which is an interesting choice.

He hasn't played since the US Open and doesn't seem fully committed to a comeback either, so it remains to be seen whether he's there as a veteran voice or actually to play. He can be a tough player indoors with his serve.

As far as Auger-Aliassime is concerned, he's going to be the main player in many ways. He was the leader last year and hopes to lead this iteration of the team to another final; however, he's not playing as well as he was playing last year.

Indoors suits his style of play, but he's yet to really find his best tennis. Recent performances were pretty poor despite some good results last week in Tokyo. He'll have to do much better if he hopes to lead Canada to another trophy. Check out the full roster below.
