The draw for the 2023 Dubai Championships was released and it promises to be one of the best ATP 500 events of the season.
The first-seeded player at the tournament is none other than world no. 1, Novak Djokovic. The Serb won the event five times before, but last year, he lost already in the quarterfinals to Jiri Vesely. This year, he will try to extend his winning streak as he's yet to lose in 2023.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion will await one of the qualifiers in the first round and if he succeeds, he will meet Tallon Griekspoor or Constant Lestienne in the second.
A couple more Grand Slam champions will compete in Dubai. The three-time major winner, Andy Murray will try to follow up on a successful run that he had in Doha, as he'll kick-off his campaign against the fifth-seeded Hubert Hurkacz.
Another major winner in the draw is the third-seeded Daniil Medvedev, who was the man who beat Djokovic in the 2021 US Open final. The 27-year-old will start against one of the qualifiers and he can meet a tricky opponent in the second round, Alexander Bublik.
Thanasi Kokkinakis received a wild card for the event and he will try to make good use of it. The Australian will also play against a qualifier, and in the second round, he can meet the eighth-seeded Borna Coric or Daniel Evans.
2020 US Open finalist, Alexander Zverev will want to continue his comeback journey, but he will face a talented youngster in the first round as Jiri Lehecka from the Czech Republic will want to beat him.
The sixth-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime is another talented NextGen player who will compete at the 2023 Dubai Championships. The Canadian, who was recently praised by John McEnroe, will meet tall American Maxime Cressy in the first round.
The second-seeded Andrey Rublev will start against Filip Krajinovic from Serbia and he can meet his compatriot Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals as the sixth-seeded Russian will begin against Botic van de Zandschulp.
