Jessica Pegula has embarked on a mission to showcase the lesser-known side of professional athletes' lives through social media.

In an effort to bridge the gap between fans and athletes, Pegula is offering an honest and unfiltered look at the challenges and triumphs that she experiences both on and off the court. Fans often see players only on the tennis courts and forget that outside of their 'battlefields', they are also normal people like everyone else.

As the world becomes increasingly captivated by the glamor and fame associated with professional sports, it's easy to forget that athletes are human beings with real emotions and daily struggles. Pegula, who's known for her dedication and hard work, seeks to remind her followers that behind every impressive performance lies a story of sacrifice.

"I think when I'm just at that moment, I'm like, 'this is really sad, this is really hard, I can't realize this is what I'm doing right now.' But I think it just shows the different side, that even though we're professional athletes, we work very hard, very professional."

The most important reminder for the fans is certainly the fact that tennis players and athletes, in general, are people like everyone else and have the same kind of struggles, worries, and problems.

"We're just like everyone else. We hit those moments where it looks crazy cool, playing in stadiums and all that stuff but like meanwhile, you know, it's tough."

Pegula's initiative to reveal the "different" side of athletes' lives serves as a reminder that success in the sports world is not just about winning and losing, but also about the personal journey that each athlete embarks on.

"We travel a lot, schedule stuff, you don't sleep. It's definitely a grind. So, I think I just like picking up those moments to share with everyone."

Currently, the 29-year-old competes at the 2023 Charleston Open where she advanced into the quarterfinals after an incredible roller-coaster match against Irina-Camelia Begu.
