Venus Williams Rules Out Possibility Of Becoming Tennis Coach After Retirement

by Evita Mueller

Venus Williams loves tennis dearly, and while she's still playing because of it, she won't be doing tennis after she retires.

They say that the greatest thing in life is when you do something that you love. And that's something that many athletes are lucky enough to do. For Venus Williams, that's exactly how it is. Her work is tennis, and she loves it.

She loves it so much that she's still grinding and working towards being able to play. It's a tough journey, the body isn't what it used to be and injuries happen far too often. Yet, she's still pushing on because she loves to play the sport.

Even with the abundance of love, Williams, like so many, has a limit. She won't be pursuing a coaching career in tennis when she's done with the game. It makes sense. She's given so much to the sport, and eventually, it's time for something else. Finding interests won't be too hard for Williams because she has so many outside of the sport.

Yes. I do not want to be a full time tennis coach because I’ve spent so much time on tennis and it’s really important to explore other things in life. But I would love to give advice to anyone who wants it and spend some time on the court with young people. And I actually love spending time on the court with beginners.

The revelation about her not wanting to be a tennis coach came during a Q and A session posted on YouTube. Despite not wanting to coach, Williams made sure to explain that she's open to helping others and giving advice. That's admirable from somebody who gave so much to the sport. She can easily ride off into the sunset knowing that she's one of the biggest icons we ever had.
