Venus Williams Receives Wild Card For 2023 Korea Open In Seoul

Venus Williams will keep playing after the US Open as she received a wild card entry into the 2023 Korea Open in Seoul.

The WTA 250 event in Seoul takes place from October 9th to the 15th, and we'll see Venus Williams at the event. The veteran had an excellent summer and followed that up with a more solid play on home soil. She's now going to take her talents to Asia.

She will take part in the Korea Open, hoping to close the year on a high note. The veteran is dead set on continuing to play the sport she loves, and after some solid performances lately, it's understandable.

She's not entirely done yet, and fans will gladly accept her if she has the will to keep the grind. Her most recent tennis outing was just a few days ago, as she took part in an exhibition match in Puerto Rico.

The match was a send-off for Monica Puig, who retired last year. The Puerto Rican is obviously best known for winning the gold medal for her country at the Olympics in a run that included a victory of Serena Williams.

It was a really good spectacle that Venus enjoyed, and it's really great to see her infectious smile still on the courts. Koreans will get a chance to do that in October when she touches down for the event in Seoul. It won't be the first time she's in Seoul either, as she played there in 2007, actually winning the event.

She played Russian Maria Kirilenko in the final and bested her in three sets to lift the trophy. She'll be back almost two decades later to give fans one final glimpse before she inevitably retires in the near future. We don't know when it's coming, but it's coming.
