Carla Suarez Navarro revealed that Serena and Venus Williams checked up on her regularly during her cancer battle.

The former Spanish player battled and successfully defeated cancer some time ago and she revealed how caring Williams sisters were during that time. She revealed in late 2020 that she had been diagnosed with cancer and would need months of chemotherapy and treatment. After overcoming cancer, she joined the tour again in May 2021 and continued playing until the 2021 season's finale.

"She (Serena Williams) and sister (Venus Williams). They both cared a lot about me. They asked me every two or three weeks how I was doing. That really surprised me." - revealed Suarez Navarro in a recent talk with the Spanish newspaper AS.

"When I saw them face to face, they remained very interested and told me that they were glad to see me back."

Adding further on Serena Williams, Suarez Navarro explained:

"A legend is leaving us. I have coincided with her a lot and I have suffered a lot from her as her rival, but I think she changed tennis, put it in a different world focus. Her clothes, everything she did."
