Mirra Andreeva will be part of Netflix's Break Point as the cameras are following her around during her stay at Wimbledon.
Andreeva became one of the hottest stories in tennis with her sudden emergence as a teenager on the WTA Tour this year. Netflix was quick to contact the youngster in order to make her part of the second season of Break Point as one of the largest talents of the sport. She signed up for it as it's a great way to show herself to the tennis world and confirmed it recently in an interview.
She's now had a while to get used to the cameras and following her second win in the main draw of Wimbledon, Andreeva was asked whether the cameras bother her in any way. She revealed that they don't because they are very nice people.
They are following me. They're actually somewhere here, I guess. I don't know. They're just follow me. They're super nice people. So far I didn't notice something bad in them. They're super nice.
Andreeva has full control over whether the cameras are around or not and has the power to stop filming whenever she feels like it. She revealed that they didn't film yesterday as she felt really nervous and the crew didn't protest at all.
If you don't want to film something today, they're super cool with it. For example, yesterday I was feeling super nervous. In the warm-up I felt a little bit uncomfortable, little bit stressed, so we told them that maybe it's not a good time for this. They were super cool with it. They just left. They gave me some space.
Like most players, Andreeva felt a bit uncomfortable with having cameras around all the time but eventually, she started to like it. After all, they're only there to show her own story. A very bright story that is worth showing.
