Iga Swiatek was pretty excited to meet film star Zendaya, who watched both the women's and men's final on Sunday in Indian Wells.
The Polish player e is quite familiar with the actors that emerged in recent years. One of the biggest is undoubtedly American film star Zendaya, who has been part of some pretty big movies in recent years like Spiderman and, more recently, Dune.
She's also the star of an upcoming film that has tennis in the front and center of its plot, a move called Challengers. Swiatek got a chance to meet the film star, which was pretty exciting for her, and she talked a bit about that after her win over Maria Sakkari.
"I already got used to all this postmatch craziness. For sure, meeting Zendaya was crazy, but on the other hand, she's a human like all of us. So I was just happy that she's enjoying tennis and she's, you know, having this movie with tennis theme coming out. So that should be really exciting."
Swiatek even extended an invitation to Zendaya if she wants to practice her tennis skills a bit more, which might happen.
It was also a pretty cool moment for the Pole that made her reflect on her journey and how far she's come. She's the top player in the world, and she has yet another trophy in her cabinet, and on top of that, an opportunity to meet other successful people.
"She can practice with me any time if she wants to. (Laughter.) But for sure it was fun and she's a really great person. I feel pretty privileged that I'm in this place where I can meet these kind of people."
Not much went wrong for her in Indian Wells, and she'll try to keep it going in Miami. It's a short turnaround, and she won't have much time to rest.
