For the third time this year, Iga Swiatek smashed Claire Liu, and this one was particularly enjoyable for the Warsaw crowd.

Playing back home in Poland is always a delight for Swiatek as she doesn't get to do that often, considering that there is only one event in the country in the whole WTA calendar. This year's edition of the Poland Open is actually played on a different court compared to last year's, which was played on clay, but it's not an issue for Swiatek.

She's won Grand Slam trophies on hard court as well and this was a continuation of good player for her. Swiatek was impressive in the first round, and this was rather impressive as well. Liu faced Swiatek twice this year, winning one game in the first match (6-1 6-0), four games in the second (6-4 6-0), and four games in this one (6-2 6-2).

This one was the first one without a bagel so it seems like progress for the American. The level Swiatek showed in this one was much better compared to the previous match which was expected. She's going to take some time to adjust to the conditions, but then when she does, it's going to be very hard to stop her.

The opening set saw Swiatek do a lot of damage on the second serve of Liu which was expected. She faced some trouble on her own serve having to save three break points which she did. The second set almost saw her open the bakery as Liu saved a break point which could have given Swiatek the bagel.

It's the first one of their three matches this year that didn't feature a bagel though it could have. The Polish number one moves to face Linda Noskova in the next match for a spot in the semi-final after beating Liu 6-2 6-2.
