Iga Swiatek might be best friends with Kaja Juvan, but she certainly didn't hold back in their matchup at the 2023 US Open.

Swiatek has largely dominated over her good friend Kaja Juvan in their previous matches on the WTA Tour. She had no troubles in their two previous matches, though this beatdown might have been the best one yet. Speaking about facing her, Swiatek admitted that they could put their friendship away while on the court, and she did just that.

The match opened with an early break, and then we saw another break, and if that wasn't enough, we saw another break. That was enough for the 20th bagel of the year for Swiatek, which is a lot more than the second-best Ostapenko, who had eight so far.

The second set opened with another break, and it was 6-0 3-0 at that time. The Slovenian player simply couldn't do anything, which isn't new when players face the world no. 1. She couldn't do anything the last time they played, but this was really stunning.

Swiatek was blasting winners left and right, racking up 8 in the first set. Compare that to 2 of Juvan, and you get the idea. The same trend continued in the second set as Swiatek aimed for another 6-0 6-0 win like the one over Karolina Pliskova in Rome.

She's quite hard to beat when she's in the zone, and the shots don't sail wide. Juvan couldn't exert any kind of pressure, and as Djokovic said, she doesn't give away any games. She did ultimately lose a game in the match allowing her friend to escape a double bagel beatdown.

The final score was 6-0 6-1 for the reigning number one as she continued her run towards another trophy. She finished with 21 winners and only five unforced errors, which speaks volumes how strong she was.
