Kaja Juvan is a Slovenian professional tennis player who was born on November 25, 2000, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Picking up the racquet for the first time when she was just 5 years old, her talent quickly became apparent.

Whisked into high-brow junior tournaments from a young age, Juvan quickly worked her way up, finding herself competing on stages such as the Wimbledon and US Open girls’ doubles finals in 2016. Attempting to build on this success, the Slovenian had to wait until 2019 to get her WTA main draw debut.

It came at that season’s Roland Garros, with her making the first round after coming through three qualifying matches. Despite losing in the first round of the main draw, her performance encouraged her to push on.

2020 and keen to get some results behind her, she found her first win at Grand Slam level, beating Usue Maitane Arconada in straight sets at the US Open. The results on the big stage kept on coming for the youngster, with her going on to reach the third rounds of the Australian Open and Wimbledon the following season.

2021 also happened to be when she picked things up on the doubles side of her game. Qualified for more and more tournaments, it was the Transylvania Open in Cluj where she really got to prove herself. Along with partner Natela Dzalamidze, they claimed the trophy after a stellar week, dropping just two sets.

She did not let this get her side-tracked, with her going on to match her efforts at the following season’s Wimbledon, but this time upsetting the number 23 seed and in-form Beatriz Haddad Maia en route.

Good runs at several tournaments meant she broke into the world's Top 60 in singles and Top 100 in doubles in 2022, laying the foundation for a very promising career set to come.
