Former ATP player David Ferrer believes that Novak Djokovic can play on this level for two or three years more, which would be impressive if it happens.

Novak Djokovic is still one of the best players in the world and will be world number one on the first Monday after the US Open concludes. The Serbian has won two of the three Grand Slams played so far this year and has a decent chance to win a 3rd one in New York.

Why is that important? Well, he's also up there in age as a 36-year-old which speaks volumes. Battling players who are mostly about a decade younger than him is very impressive, let alone the fact that he's winning most of those battles.

We haven't seen stuff like this before as tennis players usually break down by the time they get to this age. Thanks to modern medicine and his own incredible dedication, Djokovic is playing like somebody who is 26, not 36.

That bodes well for his quest to become the greatest player ever, as he's still competitive and can further his records. Becoming world number one recently ensured that his number of weeks spent as the best player in the world will increase by a few more weeks. That is the type of legacy he can extend further.

His 23 Grand Slams is something he can extend as well, though Carlos Alcaraz spoiled that party in London. In any case, former rival David Ferrer sees him competing on this level for 2-3 more years, as he revealed to Tennis Majors, giving him plenty of chances to further his legacy. As the recent Cincinnati final showed, even Alcaraz, the best among others, can sometimes struggle against the Serb.

Without a doubt, I think that Novak can go on like this for two or three more years.
