Osaka Finds New Strength On Tennis Court After Undergoing 'Most Painful' Labour

Naomi Osaka is only days away from returning to the tennis courts, and she's excited about tennis after being away for a while.

The Japanese player had a very exciting 2023 despite not spending much time on the tennis court competitively. She worked pretty hard in recent months to get back into shape to return to the sport.

As promised last year, Osaka will make her return to Australia in 2024, and it will be as a mother. That's exciting stuff for the Japanese player who matured a lot in recent months as she became a mother.

It's been a gratifying experience, per her own words, for brisbaneinternational.com.au, as she emerged as a much stronger person after becoming a mother.

"Being a mum has changed my life a lot. I think it changed my perspective on a lot of things. Giving birth was one of the most painful things I’ve ever gone through. It’s definitely made me feel like physically I can handle a lot."

While she used to play for herself in the past, Osaka is now playing for her daughter. She wants to be a great role model for her daughter and wants to show her in practice how anything is possible if you really give it your all, something she experienced in her career.

"I want to show Shai that she’s capable of everything, so that’s one of my main purposes and main reasons why I want to be back out here."

The return will come at the Brisbane International and it's going to be interesting. Nobody knows what to expect from it, including Osaka.

"That’s a tough question because I haven’t played in more than a year. I don’t know. I think I’ve given myself the biggest chance to do well, but at the same time, I haven’t had any match play."
