Coco Gauff makes an effort to stay in consistent contact with her supporters, and the American's bond with them was shown in a recent social media post.
Gauff's level on the court has been proven several times. If the 21-year-old reaches her potential, she could finish as one of the best WTA players to have ever played the game alongside legends like Serena Williams.
Despite being so young, Gauff is already thinking about how to leave a lasting impact off the court. That included collaborating with her sponsor New Balance to design her own style of signature shoes.
To date, Gauff and New Balance have created the CG1, CG2, and the Coco Delray. She wore the CG1 during her iconic run to the 2023 US Open title, defeating Aryna Sabalenka to reign supreme in New York.
The Coco Delray is a more affordable version of her signature shoes. It is designed especially for lower-income people and families who want to play tennis without being burdened by the high costs involved with the sport.
Gauff's status as the highest-earning female athlete in the world in 2024 has not stopped her from remaining down-to-earth, humble, and grateful for the love and support given by millions worldwide.
That was proven in the message she posted on X. Gauff said she still finds it crazy when fans attend her matches wearing any of the signature shoes, and promised to show appreciation to these supporters.
"Shoutout to all the homies pulling up to my matches in CG1s, CG2s, and The Delrays. Not that I have favorites amongst y’all butttt if you pull up in those i’m signing, or taking a pic, basically whatever you want me to do, it’s always crazy for me to see ppl wearing my shoes fr."
Gauff is an outstanding role model for fans worldwide, especially kids. She behaves well on the court, fights to the end in matches, and tries to help those who lack opportunities to succeed.
Many have connected with her story and are inspired by it. Although she has a long road ahead to match the achievements of Venus Williams and especially Serena Williams, her position as a black player from a humble background who made it to the top is similar.
Gauff's personality also resonates with a large section of the tennis community. For example, the two-time Grand Slam winner left fans in stitches at the 2025 Australian Open by admitting it was challenging to pee in the bodysuit she wore.
The WTA world no. 2's regular social media use also allows her to collaborate with others. A high-profile recent example was Gauff and Sabalenka doing a TikTok dance together at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships.
That video ended any speculation about bad blood between Gauff and Sabalenka after the Belarusian's controversial comments after Gauff recovered from losing the first set to beat her in the French Open.
Sabalenka claimed the result was not due to Gauff's good play and that Iga Swiatek would have beaten her opponent in the final. She later issued a public and private apology for the remarks.
