The public ballot for tickets to next year's Wimbledon championships is now open - with organisers raising the cost of Centre Court admission.
The All England Club went live this week for tennis fans to apply for hundreds of thousands of tickets to be held July 3 - 16, 2023.
Tickets for both singles finals on the main 15,000 capacity show court will jump by £15 to £255, whilst entry on the opening two days of the 136th edition of the third Grand Slam of the year will cost £80, a rise of £5.
A limited number of cheaper tickets in the back six rows remain at £230 for the finals and £70 for days one and two.
Prices have increased by a similar rate on No 1 Court, the second show court with a capacity of about 12,500.
Wimbledon bosses have also launched a ticketing review after an abundance of empty seats on Centre Court and No1 Court were spotted by viewers at home during the first week of the 2022 event.
But those entering the current ballot will still be restricted to two tickets per household throughout the fortnight.
Addressing the price rise for both show courts, an All England Spokeswoman said: “We are very conscious of the current economic climate, and have therefore made every effort to absorb most of the increased costs of staging the event.
“Careful consideration was given when setting the ticket prices for this year. More than 80 per cent of tickets available through the Wimbledon public ballot and the queue have had prices held at 2022 levels. We have also chosen not to introduce a booking fee.
“Modest increases in price, below current inflation, have been introduced for premium seats on Centre Court and No 1 Court.”
The ballot will be open until November 15, 2022.
