Roger Federer's time away from tennis has taken him to a cookery class as the Swiss legend put his hand skills to good use in the kitchen.

Roger Federer's newest video series - 24 hours with Roger - gives an outward look at the Swiss Maestro's life outside the tennis world. Federer visits some of his favorite cities around the world and bonds with some special guests. Federer also tours various towns within those cities.

The series is sponsored by Uniqlo, his clothing sponsor who made Federer their global brand ambassador since he switched from Nike in 2018. In the series Federer has visited the United States (where he shot four episodes) and Japan (where he shot six episodes). Content is available on Uniqlo's official website and its YouTube channel.

In a recent episode while in the United States, the 20-time Grand Slam champion learned how to craft the perfect pizza at Scarr's Pizza in Lower East Side in New York. Just before Federer gets inside the kitchen, he spends the first few seconds, introducing the city. And soon after, his hands are covered in flour.

"This is good. Putting the Pizza in the oven was fairly easy. It was quite subtle, the movements and I could feel the pizza sliding off the wooden board. That was the part I was least nervous about. "

"My confidence is much higher in making pizza now. But I (still) have doubts without Scarr by my side"

As Federer learns the tricks of making the ultimate perfect pizza, he takes a bite of ready-made pizza by Chef Scarr. And then he begins taking the test, rolling the dough and spreading it on the wooden pizza paddle. Gently, Federer slides it into the oven. Federer's pizza was quite as inch-perfect as his forehand, with a small dent visible after the process.

The city, however, is symbolic for Federer as it represents a massive part of his rise to stardom. Federer won five straight titles between 2004 - 2008 at the US Open and reached two more finals before the end of his playing career.
