WATCH: Heartbreaking Moment When Murray Found Out He Was Robbed Off Crucial Point

Andy Murray's 2023 Wimbledon dreams are over but things could have been vastly different if he only raised his voice.

Raising your voice doesn't always have to be a bad thing. It's not so great in an argument but more generally on a tennis court, when you have a questionable call on a crucial point; it's probably a pretty good idea.

It was the right thing to do for Andy Murray during his match against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the 2nd round of the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. The Brit started the match against Tsitsipas late on Thursday as it was abandoned due to the curfew at the event.

They returned on Friday but Murray never quite found the same rhythm he had the previous night. Tsitsipas was able to win a close 4th set and then ride that momentum in the 5th set to win the match.

In many ways, a match that went 5 sets doesn't have 'crucial points' per se though one point could have made all the difference. At 4-4 in the 4th set, Murray was up 30-15 on the serve of Tsitsipas with a really solid return that was called out.

The ball was actually in and the point would have likely been won by Murray if the rally continued giving him two break points at 4-4 in the 4th set while being up 2-1 in sets.

A break there would have probably ended the match but Murray didn't challenge it. He wasn't even aware that the ball was actually in until he was notified by the media during his post-match press conference with a lot of visible disappointment on his face after learning of it.

Well, I mean, it was right underneath the umpire's nose. They shouldn't be missing. They shouldn't be missing that, to be honest. If they're unsure, they should let the player know, I think. So, yeah, I mean, you can obviously argue it's a mistake on my part. Ultimately the umpire made a poor call that's right in front of her.

Murray on the situation

His comments on the matter highlighted his disappointment quite well though a picture is worth a thousand words so check out the momentum he found out about it below. It was a winnable match for Murray but ultimately it didn't work out. It seems like the electronic line can't come soon enough though it will only be here in 2025.
