WATCH: Djokovic Wins Rally With Spatula During Exhibition Ahead Of US Open

| by Sebastian Dahlman

Novak Djokovic is one of the best tennis players in the world, and he demonstrated it once again during US Open Kids Day, winning a point with a spatula instead of a racquet.

It seems like Novak Djokovic is truly enjoying being back in New York. Who could really blame him? It's been a while since he last stood on the courts of the US Open. In fact, the last time was in 2021, when he was contesting the final against Daniil Medvedev.

It was a losing effort, but he's returning this year with a lot of hunger. We saw some of that last week at the ATP 1000 event in Cincinnati when he amazingly made a comeback against Carlos Alcaraz to lift the trophy. That's the goal in New York, but for now, he enjoyed some exciting tennis as part of the US Open Kids Day.

Djokovic played a rally with a spatula instead of a racquet, and it was a sight to see. He didn't play the rally as clinically as he generally does, but he still won the point, celebrating it heavily. It wasn't the only activity he did that day.

Djokovic also played around with a baseball bat, showing off his hand-eye coordination once more. He crushed the ball, so much so that the X page of the US Open asked the New York Yankees if they needed a new hitter.

It was a very fun experience for Djokovic, who enjoyed it thoroughly in front of the packed stands of the Arthur Ashe Stadium. He'll soon find himself hitting tennis balls more seriously when he starts his campaign in a few days.

Djokovic is one of the favourites for the event alongside defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. It's the final many have projected. We'll see, but until then, check out Djokovic having fun with the kids.
