Tsitsipas Told To 'Take It To Next Level' By Federer Amid Form Struggles

Roger Federer was recently at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles, and during a talk with the media, the Swiss player talked about Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The Swiss Maestro might not be active in tennis anymore, but he is paying close attention to the sport. He admitted more than once that he follows tennis often and watches matches, so it's not a major surprise for him to know what's been going on on the ATP Tour.

He might even attend the Indian Wells Open this week because he's in the area. The legendary player attended the Academy Awards recently, and the ATP Masters 1000 event is held in Indian Wells which is not that far away from Los Angeles.

During his red carpet appearance, Federer briefly chatted with the media, where he touched upon tennis and, more specifically, Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek player has been struggling recently, but Federer always saw him as a really special player, and he'd like him to take it to the next level.

"Good, I mean, I obviously lost against him a bunch of times and I think he's a great player, but I would like to see him taking it to the next level. So I wish him very well."

Federer on Tsitsipas

As Federer noted, they played a few times against each other, and Tsitsipas had some pretty decent success against the legendary player. In recent months, his struggles caused him to drop out of the Top 10 after spending five years in it.

He hasn't been playing that badly, as Federer explained, but he's not been as good as he used to be, previously climbing up to number 3 in the rankings with a chance to become world number one as well.

"Of course, Tsitsipas is still doing well, and I hope he can do great this year and have another breakthrough."
