Tsitsipas Opens Up About Dream Of Becoming World No. 1 Together With Badosa

Stefanos Tsitsipas has many tennis dreams, but one of his more recent ones is being world number one together with girlfriend Paula Badosa.

Neither Tsitsipas nor Badosa has ever come close to being world number one despite being ranked in the Top 5. However, it's something that the Greek believes can happen.

They are probably the most known tennis couple right now, overtaking Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina, and they seem very happy together. Despite recent rumours of a breakup, Tsitsipas and Badosa are going strong.

They appeared together in Antwerp as the Greek is playing at the 2023 European Open this year and looked happy. Tsitsipas confirmed that during the press conference, explaining that he has a big dream together with Badosa, and it's for both of them to become world number one.

You know, it takes years to mature as a man, or as a dominant athlete. And I give myself time for that. I really want to make my dream come true one day. I dream that Paula and I can make it together and be No 1. I have nothing to prove to anyone.

Tsitsipas on his dream

That is obviously not his only dream in tennis as he has other ones, like winning a Grand Slam. It was an obsession for a long time, but nowadays it's mostly a dream as he grows comfortable with everything that he's ever achieved in tennis.

Even now, Tsitispas is by far the best Greek tennis player of all time with no competitor in sight.

“Win a Grand Slam? I was close to succeeding in this challenge, I had my chances,” he said. “Perhaps what I lacked was energy. I use way too much on a court. If you look at other champions like Djokovic, Federer and even Nadal, they know better how to manage all the effort that a Grand Slam requires.
