Novak Djokovic's career has been sensational but also somewhat mysterious with secret potions, unconventional methods and now another one of his gadgets that made an appearance at Roland Garros.
Djokovic was playing a second-round match against Marton Fucsovics when a secret thing made an appearance sparking yet another discussion around the Serbian. His magic potion has created more than a few of those and now this thing will be added to the list.
While he was sitting on his bench and changing shirts, cameras zoomed in on Djokovic's chest. There was something placed there with commentators joking that it resembled the device that kept Iron Man alive in the comics. When asked about it, Djokovic actually referenced Iron Man as well.
When I was a kid I liked Iron Man a lot, so I try to impersonate Iron Man.
The Serbian then went a step further sarcastically answering that the device is actually some nanotechnology that has been a secret his entire career and the reason why he's standing where he is today.
A rather bizarre answer but he probably anticipated that it will spark discussion on social media but his comments will certainly add to that. It's not the first time he played around as he did the same with his secret potion last year.
My team delivers an incredibly efficient nanotechnology to help me deliver my best on the court, so that’s the biggest secret of my career. If it wasn’t for that, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here.
A rather interesting week in Paris so far for Djokovic. A controversial political statement after the round one win over Kovacevic. Now an appearance of a secret James Bond-esque device on his chest and a curious comment on it all. Stange indeed but at least the tennis side of things is working pretty well. He's in the 3rd round without dropping a set so far.
