The 2025 Kitzbuhel Open will run from July 20th to 26th, and the prize money and ranking points have been revealed.
Clay-court tournaments after Wimbledon often struggle to attract many notable names, but this year's event in Austria will feature some players who could convince many fans to get tickets.
Matteo Berrettini is the defending champion. The 2021 Wimbledon runner-up defeated Hugo Gaston in the final with a clinical performance to secure his third clay-court title of 2025, after also triumphing in Morocco and Gstaad.
Berrettini is on the entry list for this year's tournament. He hopes to do better in Kitzbuhel than at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, where he lost in the opening round. Clay and grass have been his most successful surfaces.
Alexander Bublik caused a shock by reaching the 2025 French Open quarterfinal. The Kazakhstani had previously struggled on clay, but hopes to thrive on the dirt again when he competes in Kitzbuhel.
Bublik backed up his success at Roland Garros by winning the 2025 Halle Open title. That included a victory in the round of 16 against the world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, despite losing the opening set of that contest.
Although the prize money and ranking points offered for ATP 250 tournaments like the Kitzbuhel Open are less significant than those for Grand Slams, Masters 1000, and ATP 500 events, the rewards remain decent.
The 2025 Kitzbuhel Open champion will receive €90,675 and 250 ranking points. Casper Ruud, Dominic Thiem, and David Goffin are among the other men who won the tournament before Berrettini.
Sebastian Baez, Roberto Bautista Agut, and Marin Cilic will join Bublik and Berrettini in trying to win the title. Picking a winner could be challenging because there are many good clay-court players on the entry list.
The runner-up at this year's Kitzbuhel Open is set to earn €52,890 and 165 ranking points. Gaston's run to the 2024 final was surprising and represented one of the best moments of the Frenchman's career.
Yannick Hanfmann and Facundo Diaz Acosta were defeated in last year's semifinals. The two men who fall at that stage this year will walk away from the tournament with €31,090 and 100 ranking points.
The rewards fall below €20,000 from the quarterfinal stage. Losing at that point still allows those four players to make €18,015 and 50 points. That is not bad, but significantly less impressive than what is offered in the last few rounds.
Players who are eliminated in the round of 16 will still receive a five-figure sum for their efforts. €10,460 and 25 points are the guaranteed rewards for getting through the opening round of the Austrian tournament.
No ranking points are awarded to players who lose in the opening round of ATP 250 tournaments, but they will still have €6,390 added to their bank accounts for being good enough to be in the main draw.
The tennis calendar never stops. When the 2025 Wimbledon Championships end, six events are played in the next two weeks. That includes the 2025 Citi Open in Washington, which has an excellent entry list.
