On the 12th of June 2000, Roger Federer entered the Top 50 of the ATP Rankings for the first time in his career and never left it since.

Until the very same day in 2022. On the 12th of June 2022, Roger Federer dropped to the 68th place of the ATP Rankings and broke the streak that he held for more than 8000 days and 20 years.

Recently, the Swiss Maestro broke another one of his streak as he will miss the Wimbledon for the first time in his career and since he didn't play any tournament in a year, he will also drop from the ATP Rankings overall since the start of his career.

However, in a recent interview with Tages Anzeiger, Federer admitted that he's close to coming back and it seems that it will be just a matter of time until he returns back to the Top 50.

"I haven't planned more than the Laver Cup and Basel yet. After Basel, the season is over anyway. It's important for me to get fit again so that I can train fully. Once I've done that, I can choose how many tournaments I play and where. The Laver Cup is a good start, I don't have to play five matches in six days."

“I will have be able to do that in Basel. That's why I have to prepare for it in practice. I'm curious myself what's still to come. But I'm hopeful, I've come a long way. I'm not far away. The next three or four months will be extremely important.”
