If you say Wimbledon, the first thing that comes to your mind is Roger Federer as no one has been more successful than the Swiss Maestro in the All England Club.

Overall, Roger Federer won 8 titles at the Wimbledon and won 105 matches at the only grass-court Grand Slam tournament in the calendar. It was the second Grand Slam tournament that he played in his career and since losing his first round match in 1999, he participated every year during his lengthy career.

In 2020, it was not possible for Federer to participate as the tournament was cancelled due to a pandemic. But except for that year, he participated during every edition of the tournament. From 2003 until 2007 he was unbeaten in the All England Club as he managed to win 5 titles in a row.

Now, in 2022, he will skip the event for the first time in his career as he didn't play since the last year's tournament. Yet, Federer should still come back this season as he should play at the Laver Cup and also at the Swiss Indoors in Basel and maybe, he can participate in at least one more Wimbledon Championship next year.

Also his agent, Tony Godsick admitted that the Swiss Maestro will probably want to play at least one more Wimbledon, when he said:

"He won't rush back this time. He will have to be 100 per cent and know he's 100 per cent and that's why he's taking his time doing heavy rehab and training. It's not just when knee feels good but building up the muscles and getting lungs back. I know he's encouraged where he is. It was a great effort last year on one leg. I think he'd like another Wimbledon. That place has been incredibly special to him."
