Kyrgios Reveals He Would Like To Be Paid 'A Bit More' For Making Wimbledon Final

Nick Kyrgios thinks that he should have been paid a bit more than he got paid for making the Wimbledon final last year.

Nick Kyrgios has had a very interesting relationship with tennis. His preference for basketball over tennis has been widely known though the Australian probably likes the sport quite a bit more than he lets the fans know. You don't become a tennis player if you really dislike the sport.

Besides that, the motivation to play the sport is also financial. He never hid that part, and that's why he celebrated the news of Saudi Arabia getting involved. He participated in the last edition of the Diriyah Tennis Cup, and he knows that their involvement can help.

Money was also the topic of a recent interaction he had with a tennis fan on social media, where he reacted to the news of John McEnroe getting paid £205,000 for working as a commentator at Wimbledon. Kyrgios joked about it on Twitter.

At least the players get paid what they are supposed to. LOL.

The Australian was then asked by the same fan how much he would demand for two weeks of work at Wimbledon and he revealed that he would want a bit more than he got for making the final at the event last year.

Lol after making a final, a bit more then what I got paid.

Kyrgios lays out his demands

The runner-up at last year's Wimbledon got £1,050,000, but obviously, that's not the amount the player gets. You need to pay taxes and all sorts of things before you actually get the number that the players got. In any case, Kyrgios has been missing paychecks as he hasn't played at all this year, which is unfortunate for the Australian.
