'Keep My Name Out Of Your Mouth': Kyrgios Lashes Out At Former Player After Critique

by Kadir Macar

Nick Kyrgios lashed out against former player Jimmy Arias who said some things about the Australian during a segment on the Tennis Channel.

A former world number 5 on the ATP Tour, Arias works as a tennis commentator for the Tennis Channel and ESPN, and speaking to the Tennis Channel, Arias made some comments on Kyrgios. It came as a reaction to the Australian saying that the tennis schedule is crazy and that he won't be playing in his thirties.

Arias didn't hold back in his comments on Kyrgios, pointing out that the Australian doesn't even play the full schedule, so him complaining about it makes no sense. In fairness, Kyrgios doesn't play as much as other players and skips the clay season regularly.

Kyrgios was made aware of the comments, and he lashed out against Arias on Twitter, accusing him of using Kyrgios' name in order to stay relevant. He also told him that he would appreciate it if Arias stopped talking about him.

@ariastennis you got some sort of issue? Although I had no idea who you were before my mate messaged me 10 mins ago, I’d appreciate if you kept my name out of your mouth to keep you relevant… well at least to give you some form of credibility.

Kyrgios on Twitter

One fan pointed out that Arias is a former world number 5 who knows tennis, but Kyrgios wasn't particularly impressed. Then he pointed out that the era Kyrgios is playing in is the strongest era in the history of tennis.

Haha yeah? When who played? Hahahaha really strong era of tennis.

Kyrgios responds to fan

Kyrgios was very active on social media recently adding his comments to many things including one comment made by another tennis figure. It comes during a period when the Australian spends a lot of time away from the tennis courts due to injuries.
